Artificial leather is a high-performance surface material with the look of genuine leather, produced by coating a woven, knitted or nonwoven backing with PU or PVC.
How is quality measured?
- Abrasion (Martindale): 30,000+ cycles for furniture; higher specification values in automotive.
- Hydrolysis resistance: Durability against surface peeling under humidity and heat; 3 years indoor, 5-7 years automotive.
- Tensile and seam strength: The quality of the backing is decisive.
- Colour fastness: Must be tested before lot approval in light colours.
Applications
Sofas and seating, office furniture, automotive upholstery, bags and footwear, wall panels and marine upholstery.
Our own production
We produce artificial leather at our own facility in Tekirdağ. That lets us take your thickness, backing, colour and grain requirements straight into the production plan, and set price and lead time without an intermediary. For special series we do not run in-house, we continue to work with our manufacturer network.
